SUMMARY:Introduction to VSAC Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS): Planning for Life After High School
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this informative and collaborative workshop designed to support parents and professionals working with neurodiverse students as they prepare for the transition beyond high school. This session will highlight the work that VT Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Counselors are doing in twelve schools across Vermont in partnership with HireAbility Transition Counselors\, to strengthen coordinated support for students navigating postsecondary planning. You will gain an overview of Pre-ETS and explore the interactive workshops VSAC counselors are delivering. These workshops are designed to help students identify their interests\, clarify career and education goals\, and build practical skills needed to manage life after high school. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how Pre-ETS supports transition planning and how these services can complement the work already being done to support student success. \nRegister here

SUMMARY:Student-Led IEPs
DESCRIPTION:When students are given the opportunity to have an active role in the development of their individualized education program\, they learn how to state their preferences and goals\, and take ownership over their future. A student-led IEP process has many benefits\, such as promoting self-advocacy\, improving student engagement\, and strengthening transition planning. This workshop will be co-presented by three people with experience with student-led IEPs: a disability advocate\, a parent of a person with a disability\, and a person who supports youth with disabilities as they transition to adulthood. \nRegister here

SUMMARY:VABVI Presents: Decluttering & Home Organization with Vision Loss
DESCRIPTION:Clutter in our homes can impact our safety and stress level\, but decluttering is not always easy\, especially with vision loss! Tackling it can seem like a big and overwhelming task\, and it may bring up difficult\, sometimes unexpected emotions. Join VABVI for a webinar on decluttering and organization with vision loss with Lora Gerard of Dartmouth Health’s Aging Resource Center and Melinda Underwood of the Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired. \nFirst up\, Lora will discuss the benefits of decluttering\, strategies for approaching projects\, and questions you can ask yourself to help make decisions about objects in your space. Melinda will then help us take a closer look at how we can adapt those strategies for tackling clutter as our vision declines. Together we will talk about reducing our risk of injury\, alleviating stress\, and tracking important objects and documents\, regardless of our level of vision. \nLearning to live with vision loss is challenging\, and excess clutter in the home can increase the challenges exponentially. Experts from Dartmouth’s Aging Resource Center and VABVI are here to help. \nWhen: Fri\, September 18\, 2026\nTime: 7:00 PM Eastern\nPresenters: Lora Gerard\, Dartmouth Health’s Aging Resource Center and Melinda Underwood of the VABVI \nLink to Join Meeting:\nVABVI Presents: Decluttering & Home Organization with Vision Loss \nMeeting ID: 447 366 6326\nPasscode: 995118\nOr join by phone: +16465588656\, +14473666326
