Podcast called I See What You Hear by two former students served by the Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (VABVI) produced an episode (episode #5) called ‘Accessing Print Material’. This episode interviews Stephanie Bissonette and they discuss different ways people with blindness or visual impairment can access printed material. This episode highlights the BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download), a free service from the U.S. National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) providing digital audiobooks and Braille materials for eligible patrons, accessible via the web, a desktop app (BARD Express), or the BARD Mobile app on phones/tablets, allowing instant downloads of bestsellers, classics, and magazines for those with print disabilities, eliminating the need for physical mail, and other methods to access print material.
